Kennedy Center On-Location Program

On the national stage, ATA is one of only ten schools from across the country that will participate in the On-Location Program, offered by the Kennedy Center and Daimler Financial Services. ATA is the first school (and the only one in DC) to participate and was selected from a large pool of applicants. Students from the Video Production and Digital Art majors will contribute their talents to this endeavor during the two weeks in January.

The program is designed to allow students the opportunity to tell the story of the arts in their community. A drama artist and media artist will work with students in storytelling techniques and media skills. ATA students will interview members from the local Go Go band, Mambo Sauce, and will create a documentary about the DC music scene. The resulting video will be shared worldwide on the Internet. ATA will receive a media equipment package, and our Video Production and Digital Art majors will receive additional training in storytelling, filmmaking, editing, and producing video stories.
